The things I use and love for my photography business. Equipment, programs, backdrops & studio things, etc.
This is the body I use! I am hoping to upgrade soon, but this is a GREAT camera! Honestly, if this camera had dual card slots I wouldn’t even be considering upgrading.
This is the big clunky thing that makes my camera look huge lol! But I absolutely love the ability to have two batteries in my camera (esp for weddings) and I also love having the extra shutter button so my arm isn’t all twisted when taking portrait oriented photos.
MEMORY CARD HOLDER
Suuuuuper handy for keeping all of my memory cards safe and organized.
I LOOOOVE my Atlas Supply Co. camera bag. So beautiful, carries all of my necessities. I will say I travel light, but this bag carries my entire camera (body, battery grip, and go-to lens), an additional small lens, by bulky a** flash, my 16″ laptop, my battery chargers, my memory card holder, and can also fit a few other things I may toss in. The only thing I will say is that the water bottle side pocket is 100% useless.
I am obsessed with my Magmod flash accessories. This is the link for the MagMod MagGrip, which is a magnetic mount base for their accessories. This is needed for their other products, and I so far have gotten the MagMod MagSphere but I plan on eventually getting other products from them as well! It CHANGED my flash game for real for real.
I love my 35mm f2. It is pretty much as basic as a 35 mm lens gets, and while I totally want to upgrade asap this lens has been amazing for me and honestly rarely leaves my camera.
PROGRAMS & PRINTING
Could not and would not run my business without these programs as well as my favorite places to print photos.
SITEGROUND MANGED WORDPRESS HOSTING
I know diddly squat about website building, but this is where I started and where I have stayed. They are incredibly helpful, and somehow ya girl has a fully functioning site that I LOVE and feel comfortable using.
Flothemes absolutely changed my life. I purchased the rosemary theme and Wowowow I am never looking back. My website went from bleh to beauty and it makes building your WordPress site incredibly easy. 50/10
There are lots of programs out there to help you keep your business organized, but I started with Honeybook and haven’t left. It definitely feels intimidating in the beginning, but that’s because of just how much you really can do with it to streamline your business. With this link you can get 50% off your first year. They are also incredibly helpful anytime you have questions!
For editing I mostly stick to adobe Lightroom classic, but I also pop photos into photoshop here and there to do some extra editing and also for creating other business related things. I have the monthly photography plan (20GB) and it includes everything I need and more.
Artifact Uprising makes some of the most beautiful photo books and I also love their photo card designs.
I love love love MPIX for my basic photo printing needs. This is where I send everyone and they have great prices as well as run sales all of the time.
THE STUDIO THINGS AND OTHER
While the studio is forever growing and constantly changing, I wanted to link a few things like the backdrops I use as well as a few other fun extras that I use when taking some self portraits and such.
Great for use indoors. This is a very basic and lightweight stand so it isn’t great outdoors if the ground is not flat or if there is any wind at all whatsoever (although I’ve done it with the help of stone blocks lol).
MOST USED BACKDROP PAPER
This color is so beautiful and what I have up most in the studio.
I happened upon this ring light bundle and couldn’t stand it up. Includes a small ring light with adjustable settings, two different stands, a phone holder, a bluetooth remote, and a carrying bag. I use this ALL OF THE TIME.
RUGS USA is my go to for rugs all over my home. I do have one rug in the studio that just so happened to be on a major clearance sale at urban outfitters, but other than that all of my other rugs are from RUGS USA. I mostly get questions about the fluffy rug in the studio, so I’ll link that one here!
